Counselor Spotlight

Amber Thacker

Amber Thacker is an eighth-year counselor working at Centennial Elementary School in Duchesne county. This year her school has implemented a school-wide program focused on self-regulation and emotional control. The students are now better able to recognize, express, and regulate their emotions. Amber reports it is so beneficial to have the whole school speaking the same language and working as a team to support students social-emotional needs. A message she would like to send to her students is.."I love our students at Centennial Elementary! Your willingness to learn and to grow, even when things are hard, makes me so proud. You make this absolutely the best job in the world!"
