Annie Hartvigsen (She/Her/Hers)

Annie Hartvigsen is a Regional Outreach Coordinator for The Younique Foundation. She has worked in nonprofits, and specifically outreach and education, for the last 7 years. She joined The Younique foundation team in 2018. Annie has always felt a drive to make public programs more accessible to community members, whether that means expanding programming or helping the public connect with existing organizations and services. In her current role, she gets to travel throughout the state doing just that.

Karen Brown

Karen Brown is the Community Outreach Manager for The Younique Foundation and is driven to inspire hope and healing in women who were sexually abused as children. She also works with TYF's awareness and prevention brand, Defend Innocence, to help educate and empower parents and caregivers to reduce the risk that their kids will be abused. Helping community leaders engage with these free resources is a key focus of the Community Outreach team. Karen has been working with therapeutic communities for the last 15 years and came to TYF in 2017.

The Younique Foundation

The Younique Foundation inspires hope in women who were sexually abused as children or adolescents by providing healing services through educational retreats, support groups, and online resources. They educate and empower parents and caregivers to protect children from sexual abuse through community and online resources. They advocate for open discussions about sexual abuse through community dialogue and social awareness.

Defend Innocence

Defend Innocence is a brand of  The Younique Foundation,  a public charity founded by Shelaine and Derek Maxfield, with a mission to eradicate  child sexual abuse and its effects.  At Defend Innocence, we focus on risk reduction and prevention of child sexual abuse and invite  parents,  caregivers, and  community leaders  to become involved in protecting children.
